Cultivating the future:

Innovation in Organic and Sustainable Farming

We believe producing high-quality wines and products is inseparable from a deep respect for the plants we cultivate, the environment, people, and the animals that inhabit our land.

To honor this commitment, we have implemented comprehensive sustainable practices to reduce our environmental impact.

Caring for the Vineyards:

We utilize sustainable irrigation techniques, including a subsurface system and the use of agrometeorological sensors. These sensors provide critical data for efficient water and crop management. Discover our water conservation methods.

We practice green manure (cover cropping) to maintain and improve the fertility of our soils. This technique involves planting herbaceous species, such as legumes or grasses, between the vineyard rows and then incorporating them into the soil after flowering. This method provides numerous beneficial functions for the environment. Discover the advantages of this practice.

Resilient Grape Varieties: Over the last three years, we have planted 8,000 new resistant vines. This investment will allow us to further reduce our biological treatments using copper and sulfur against fungal diseases. These vines will reach full production in 2028, offering exciting new aromatic possibilities in the cellar. As of 2024, Folicello is a partner in the Co.Vi.Res. project. Discover our collaboration.

Sustainability in the Cellar:

Energy from the Sun: Our commitment to producing clean power and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions has driven progressive investments in photovoltaic systems integrated into our winery’s roofs.

We began in 2009 with a 20 kW system, followed by another 20 kW installed on our shop’s roof in 2013. In spring 2025, a 60 kW system will be added to the roof of our new warehouse, bringing our total generating capacity to 100 kW.

This latest installation will allow us to rely almost exclusively on self-produced energy, strengthening our operations while significantly reducing our environmental footprint.

Sustainable Packaging Management: We carefully select materials for our products, progressively reducing plastic consumption and promoting sustainable, biodegradable alternatives such as Mater-Bi to minimize waste and environmental impact. We actively recover reusable materials, such as bottle cartons, through a collaboration program with our loyal customers: in exchange for a refund on the original carton cost, they return the empties in good condition for reuse.
